Materials / Civil & Infrastructure

Road Base & Sub-Base.

Road base and sub-base production. Spec-compliant gradation from primary blast rock through to finished civil aggregate.

What we produce

Road base, sub-base, capping, and drainage aggregate for civil infrastructure projects. Highways, rail, hardstand, port works, mine haul roads. Output to client spec sheet or to common civil aggregate standards depending on the project. VicRoads sections 801, 812, and 815 in scope where applicable.

How we produce it

Multi-stage circuit. Primary jaw breaks down blast or quarried rock, secondary cone produces cubical product, multi-deck screens separate to spec gradation. Output is sampled and tested daily against the client's published spec.

Engagement model

Most road base work is mobile contract or campaign crushing. Plant moved to site or to a quarry stockpile, runs the campaign, demobilises clean. For larger or longer-running programmes contract crushing fits better.

Typical output fractions

/ Confirmed per client spec at scoping

  • Type 1 / Class 2 road base
  • Sub-base aggregate
  • Capping layer material
  • Drainage aggregate
Service line

Best run as: Contract Crushing.

Mobile contract crushing and screening at scale. Single to multi-stage circuits, brought to your site and run to your spec. Built for partnerships measured in years, not weeks. Same service is sometimes called mobile crushing or mobile contract crushing. Same fleet, same crew, same standard.

/ FAQ

Road Base & Sub-Base questions.

Can Rostrevor produce road base to Type 1 / Class 2 spec?

Yes. Output gradation is confirmed during scoping against the client's published spec sheet. Daily QA sampling and testing ensures compliance across the campaign.

What's the typical tonnage for a road base campaign?

Campaigns range from tens of thousands of tonnes for civil works through to hundreds of thousands for major infrastructure. Plant sized to programme requirements.

Do you crush road base to VicRoads section 801, 812, or 815?

Yes. VicRoads-spec road base is a routine output for civil infrastructure programmes in Victoria. Daily QA verifies gradation against the published section.
